Firstly I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and got everything that you put on your list. I hope you are all gearing up for the New Year and all that it may bring you. It has been such a long time since I wrote and I have no idea why. Maybe my blog mojo pottered off for a little siesta, maybe I have been so busy in my life that I had little time for blogging but I am still here and still plodding along.
Summer has been and gone and I have been hard studying with my asthma module and then in October I began my Prescribing module at University. This is a challenging module and needs me to be focused and organised.
From a photography and sewing perspective not much has been happening but I keep trying to dabble and will keep on doing so cos I enjoy it.
Then all of a sudden it was Christmas. Savannah got a Kindle and is totally made up with it. We also got her a metal detector that she has asked for for the last 2 years and a walk on the beach the day after Boxing day turned up 3 pence, 2 rusted pieces of iron, 1 nut and 1 washer. I feel that there may be many evenings on the beach in the summer with this gift and lots of fun.
Imogen got so many bits and pieces for Christmas, she was going to have driving lessons but has changed her mind for the moment. She has such a busy year coming up, interviews for University are already lined up, trips to Disney with her Health and Social group, 18th Birthday in the summer. I can’t believe my little girl is nearly 18, how time flies.
Anyway enough babble for the moment, Happy New Year to you all, may you all have health, happiness and wealth.
So I have been thinking about my blog name and wondering if a more catchy name would work with my readers? This has led me on to thinking about who reads my blog and the fact that I simply don’t know if I have any regular readers or not. I don’t get many comments and I am not sure why that is, whether my posts don’t lend themselves to comments or is my blog not actually being read.
I have site stats set up and can see that posts are being read and where people come to my blog from but it all seems a little impersonal still.
So….what makes you comment on a blog? How many blogs do you read each day? How do you know when I have posted or do you just pop in occasionally?
I would love to get a little more interactive so leave me a comment and tell me how you found me and what makes you comment on a blog post. What things make you visit a blog regularly? How did you find me and if you want leave a little info about yourself and a link to your blog so I can get to know you a bit more too.
I look forward to getting to know some of you a bit more
For those of you who keep up with my musings and general ramblings you will have noticed that I have a new badge on the side of my blog page. This is the badge for Britmums.
“BritMums is the UK’s largest and most influential network of parent bloggers. Our mission is to encourage and support bloggers and the high quality, ethical blogging they do. We’re passionate about it. We started life in 2008 when founder and former marketing executive Susanna Scott — inspired by the burgeoning number of parent bloggers — created a social networking site where we could talk about our blogs and parenthood.”
There is lots and lots of support for blogging parents through this network and I have not yet fully managed to explore the site but if you are UK based and have a blog and children then this could be worth you joining.
To all the Britmums bloggers who have found my blog – hi and welcome along. I hope you pop in now and again to see what I am up to. I am looking forward to meeting so many new friends and read about what other people are getting up to. To the people who already follow me maybe go over to Britmums and have a look
